excerpt: "There's no Day 9 for my Learning Go series, as I moved house over the weekend and it was chaotic."

I moved house over the weekend, after almost two years of having me, my wife, my daughter, and my dog all living at my parents house. It's been pure chaos to be honest.

Quite a few things went wrong. Firstly, our divan bed frame was too large to fit up the stairs, so we had to get rid of it and spend the first few nights sleeping on a mattress on the floor[^1]. Then our TV broke after falling off the sofa where _somebody_[^2] left it leaning a bit too precariously while they got distracted. And then finally the clutch on our exceedingly cheap car broke yesterday. To say it's been stressful is an understatement.

I'm glad we have our own space again though. I dealt with a lot of feeling like a failure after we wound up moving into my parents' house. I know it wasn't really my fault, the rental market went haywire and our landlord, being the parasite that they were, decided they wanted to ~sell the house~ double the rent, and so dealt us a Section 21 notice[^3] 3 days before our wedding. I'm really grateful my parents were able to let us in, and we're in a much better place now. The street seems really quiet and safe, there's enough room for all of us, and I think it should be a good place to live for the next couple of years at least.

[^1]: I've heard it's better for your back but really I just ended up rolling off the edge of the mattress.

[^2]: It's me. I am that somebody.

[^3]: A no-fault eviction, for those unfamiliar with British tenancy laws
